#AskStephanie: “how did you get into this?”
I've been getting this question a lot lately.
I used to answer it very seriously with a long 10-page essay and powerpoint presentation, until I realised that it was never really the answer that people wanted to hear.
People will ask me this on the bus, over texts, when I'm getting my hair done - with literally no intention of following through on anything I say, it's just to satisfy their curiosity.
But here are the three questions I believe they're REALLY asking when they say this:
"Who gave you permission?"
