The Creative Mental Health Series, #6: I’m just a flaky, transgressive artist.

This is one of my favourite poems on my upcoming spoken word album because if there was ANYTHING to sum up who I am as a person, this is it.

To me this poem is not just about being a person with imperfections, but also about being upfront about who I am to other people. And in doing so, you can be accepted. Not because who you are is right or wrong, simply truthful and honest. This poem represents the hopeless romantic I am. The weird, unpredictable person I am. It is a poem I will point to when I'm tired and depressed and at a loss for words that accurately describe how I feel in the moment from now until the end of time. I hope you like it.
