#AskStephanie: is writing self-indulgent?

In the beginning of my career, I often thought to myself whether my books, the mission, the movements, this entire thing was a little self-indulgent. Especially when there is so much going on in the world - socially, economically, politically. It’s a shit feeling, when you want to help the world but the only way you feel you can is by being flowery and writing some bullshit lines of poetry.

I’m sure you’ve probably felt this at some point too. And I can almost feel the critics vehemently nodding their heads right now at this very moment. 

Is creativity self-indulgent?

Well, yes…
