TSLS 0010 - How's your #wholewriter?

I want to share a new greeting with you today, and I want it to become a thing.

I'm hoping it will help to create those amazing moments between people where they realise they have something in common - that they are part of the same tribe.

The next time you're among writer friends, start the conversation like this:

"Hey, how are you? How's your #wholewriter?"

Because this is a new thing, you WILL get some funny looks until it catches on...but that's a risk you should be willing to take in an attempt to make a deeper connection.

You see, "How's your #wholewriter?" basically means:

"How are you, y'know, in your soul? Are you reaching the goals you've set for yourself, and if not, what's holding you back?"

Imagine how incredible it will be when writers all over the world get familiar with this simple question, and actually start using it. Because then, not only will the person who asked feel great about asking such a supportive question; the person who was asked will finally get to engage in the conversation their soul was dying for.

"You know, I've been feeing confident about myself and my work lately - just need to carve out the time to make the dream work."

"I've been working on my fear of not feeling good enough and it's really helped me get more work done, and feel more positive about myself as a whole."

"This week I finally ditched someone in my life that happened to be draining a lot of my energy and making me feel terrible. I'm so proud of myself, and happy to know that I don't have to feel that way anymore."

Let me tell you: These conversations are a million times better than those awkward "how's your writing going?" conversations that lead absolutely nowhere.

It may take a while before this catches on, or it may become the fastest initiative in history - but that all depends on us. So try it out with your friends. Ask them the question, send them this post, and ignore the confused stares until you break through, because it will create the ultimate connection. It's the sign that tells the world that you're open to supporting and having authentic conversations with your fellow writers.

And in doing so, you'll connect with those that are willing to do the same for you.

Over to you:

How's YOUR #wholewriter?
